I think so.  I went with a routed (not routed(8)) VPN.  It seems to work 
very nicely so far.

Thanks.  I was seriously considering going the scripting route before 
learning more about OpenVPN.

BTW, there was one comment by Chris Buechler awaiting moderation.  I
