Anyone using vmware3 for anything they care about?

I need to do some cross-platform devel - does anyone have any stories to
tell regarding VMWare under FreeBSD before I plunk down the $$$ for a
license?  I'm not talking about production stuff, I'm just going to be
doing development. But I'd like it not to crash every two hours. ;)
