Summary: ZFS Clone Core Dump
Product: Base System
Version: 10.1-RELEASE
Hardware: amd64
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Some People
Priority: ---
Component: bin
Assignee: freebsd-bugs at FreeBSD.org
Reporter: rami.jebara at tuangru.com
System: FreeBSD AMD64 10.1-RELEASE-p3. Base standard distro with GENERIC
kernel. All binaries from main Repo
System has a ZFS Root (Mirrored Drives) and 2 3-Disk pools (RAIDZ1).
Issue:
Inadvertently tried to clone a snapshot from pool1 to pool2 (instead of using
send/receive)
Result was a zfs command core dump.
Expected result: Error message
Command used:
% sudo zfs clone pool1/jails/base at base10.1-p3 pool2/jails/jailclone
% sudo gdb -c ./zfs.core /sbin/zfs
