 I've just updated the firmware of my SSDs (Corsair Force 3) to the most 
 recent version (1 week old - 1.3.3) and the problem is no longer 
 reproducable.
 
 Sadly there is no firmware update for the Samsung drives - however - 
 that is a different story and not a FreeBSD problem.
