FreeBSD pcbsd-884 8.0-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 8.0-RELEASE-p2 #10: Thu Jan 7 14:50:53 EST 2010 root at build8x64.pcbsd.org:/usr/obj/usr/pcbsd-build80/fbsd-source/8.0-src/sys/PCBSD amd64
>Description:
Tested with FreeBSD 8.0, PC-BSD 8, as well as FreeBSD 8.1 beta. Hardware is an HP Pavilion dv2000 laptop. When I put in the BSD DVD to install, I get the cd loader, and up to the line '/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x8d9548'. The computer sits there for a minute or two, before rebooting itself.

I found, however, that if I hit escape in bios and explicitly choose to boot from the CD/DVD drive, the install will work just fine.
>How-To-Repeat:
Burn FreeBSD iso, put in drive and turn it on :-).
>Fix:
Explicitly choosing to boot from cd/dvd.
