FreeBSD sunbow.eik.bme.hu 8.0-STABLE FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE #0: Wed Dec 23 08:32:20 CET 2009 root@:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64
>Description:
The default 512M root filesystem is too small for two kernels (/boot/kernel and /boot/kernel.old). 512M is the sysinstall default, and http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/install-steps.html#BSDLABELEDITOR also suggests this size.
>How-To-Repeat:
Rebuild and install the 8.0-STABLE amd64 kernel on a machine having the default 512M size root filesystem.
>Fix:
Change the default root filesystem size to 1G(?), both in sysinstall and in the documentation, and wherever needed.
