Please provide the complete panic message.
If the debugger pops up, please try to get a backtrace using the 'bt' command.
Also please clarify, if booting from CD bombs out or if the first boot after installing
does not work.
Output of a verbose boot dmesg might be helpful for us to find the source of trouble.
