When power outage or other thing happened to cause machine down, the last did not provide a correct down time when this happened. The crash line shows the time duration when the machine is rebooted, not the machine was crashed.

Logon as a user and unplug the power. Wait for a hour or longer then power on the machine, then type last command to check the timestamp.
