The changes commited with regards to PR 10555 to bsd.ports.mk, appear
to break lib installations if the trailing "/" is removed.

Setting IGNORE_PATH_CHECKS is a temporary fix.
Either other dependent files (dependent on DESTDIR) need to be corrected, or 
the trailing "/" should be allowed.
