>Description:
I'm having trouble controlling the sound level of my sound card, specifically volume adjustments using mixer and other volume control tools don't change the actual volume.

For example when playing a MP3 at 1% volume the sound is unbearably loud and moving the volume to 100% doesn't affect the volume, at 0% there is no sound.
