Compaq 1600R, though problem also observed on Compaq AP400 workstation
>Description:
On boot the kernel freezes at the point where psm0 would be detected.
Removing the mouse allows normal booting. Note that just removing
the psm0 driver from the kernel does not help! I did this and managed
to get one boot to single-user mode, but all other boots freeze.
Only unplugging the mouse completely gives a reliable boot.
This problem does not exist on FreeBSD 5, or FreeBSD 4.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try and boot a 6.0-RELEASE kernel on a Compaq 1600R server. I did
this as part of an in-place upgrade from 5.4 to 6.0. I have not
tried it from an installation CD.
>Fix:
Unplug the mouse. Not a problem for a workstation, might be a bit less
of a workaround on an AP400 workstation!
