not able to collect a uname -a on a laptop that wont boot. sorry

this is a laptop that happily boots FreeBSD 4.X, however, so here's that one:
minime# uname -a
FreeBSD minime.attbi.com 4.9-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.9-RELEASE #4: Thu Jan 15 22:30:36 PST 2004 root at minime.attbi.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/MINIME i386

>Description:
Laptop: HP Omnibook 800CT, p166MMX, NeoMagic MagicGraph 128, SymBios SCSI, CardBus, ESS 1888 Sound.

It's worth noting that it has a very weird one-off VLSI integrated controller that i have never seen anywhere else. it's a marvel of integration, but i think it bankrupted VLSI :-(.

It's vintage 1997, but ultra compact, it was crazy expensive when they first came out, but i bought mine on EBay for 200 bux.

It happily boots 4.X. I am ssh'd into it from my destop machine whilst i fill ou this pr.

Here is the pciconf -l:
