FreeBSD flea 5.2.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE #0: Mon Feb 23 20:45:55 GMT 2004 root at wv1u.btc.adaptec.com:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386
>Description:
vinum(8) says:
device devicename Specify the device on which the drive resides.
devicename must be the name of a disk parti-
tion, for example /dev/da1e or /dev/ad3s2h, and
it must be of type vinum. Do not use the ``c''
partition, which is reserved for the complete
disk.
as far as i can tell, this seems to be wishful thinking.
