 What version of XFree86 are you using?  If 4.3.0 or older, please update
 and try again.  You could also drop in the newest driver from
 http://www.winischhofer.net/linuxsisvga.shtml and try that (yes, the
 linux driver works). This is most likely an issue with the SiS driver. 
 Because of that, I'm moving this to ports.
