That would make sense, but can't swap to zfs either (options there are file -
which won't work (documented) or zvol which is not documented but trying it
just gave an inappropriate ioctl when trying to add the dump dev) possibly the
other thing I could do it take the hotspare device out of the pool and turn it
into a sump dev... but really trying not to screw with the existing config....


Did you take a look at the photo of the console?  Does it seem interesting?  It
is 100% reproducable and the panic is instant.
