Obviously the driver is not loading because you're using the GENERIC
kernel.  In order to use the new driver you have to rebuild your
kernel without ixgbe in it.

Alternatively you can try using freebsd-update to upgrade the system
to 9.1-RC1 and see if the card would be supported.

Additionally you should show the PCI IDs by using 'pciconf -lv' so we
can see exactly what hardware model you're using.
