I left off the 'not applicable' (to me at least) sections
since I had to type these in manually. If you need any of
the skipped sections - say so and I'll get them to you.
Also, when
>>> set boot_dev DKA500
boot_dev protected from attempted operation
(Upper/Lower case DKA500 yield same message.)
Sometimes hardware actions help.
At boot the CD tray is opened by the DEC. With or without a
CD in place, any attempt to close it causes an immediate open
by the DEC. (won't close and stay there.) There are no external
(to the tower) buttons or toggles or anything other than the
open/load button, the volume dial and the system control panel's
ON/OFF, REBOOT, HALT and LED screen.
Back side is cards and cables.
Hope this has been helpfull.
Side note: Brooks, sorry I spelled your name wrong earlier.

('REPLY' button won't work. I have six keyboards for myself here at
work plus the rest I trouble shoot. Outgoing is from whichever I'm
at BUT incoming is preferred as norseman. Or stevet at water.ca.gov .
It's a darn sight easier than always logging in somewhere else. :)
