I have to report a success story... The patch made 8-stable to correctly
attach acpi and recognize every piece of hardware in this mini-beast
(except Broadcom wireless). There are couple of warnings though...

I don't know possible implications of removing those status checks from
acpi.c but most important effect for me is that I'm now able to put
FreeBSD on this machine and actually use it. :)
