T43 resume problem

If x (X.Org X Server 1.5.3) is not started, then closing the lid
suspends/resumes perfectly.

If x is started and /etc/rc.d/netif started, suspend works, resume fails.
If x is started and /etc/rc.d/netif stopped, suspend works, resume works.

Thinkpad T43 (type 2668), bge0 and iwi0 network drivers.
With 7.1-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD:
