APIC problem

In the loader conf I did:

load /boot/kernel/acpi.ko
set machdep.cpu_idle_hlt=0

This made the FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT CD work. But on the other hand the fan is 
now spinning, indicating that the CPU is not sleeping like it should.

Do you see what the problem is?
