This procedure is not really supported.  Well, it's supported only
if a number of conditions are met, while NFS-mounting remote root,
/usr and /var partitions always works, even for cross-arch.  The
reason is that we build and use during the install phase a lot of
tools, using the build host's environment (headers, libraries,
toolchain, etc.).
