It will be looked at presently, after the libtool megapatch goes in.  I 
then plan on doing the same work with autoconf and automake, then 
migrating the not inconsiderable amount of code currently in 
Mk/bsd.port.mk out into Mk/bsd.gnutools.mk

All this, of course, takes time, especially given the large number of 
ports that depend on the scary trinity (libtool,autoconf,automake) in 
order to function.
