Maybe the best here is to deal with desktop files another way I mean changing
the @*exec things to run the update-desktop-database only if the binary is
present and not depending on gnome at all.

All gnome users will have the update-desktop-database so it will work for them
and leave non gnome user happy.

(This is a 5s thought, not sure it is a good idea or not :))
