If that's the case someone will notice that it's deprecated, and step 
forward to maintain it. In an situation like this I might give it more 
than one month, since not everyone uses tools like portmaster that tell 
you when something is DEPRECATED, but generally the maintainer is in a 
pretty good position to know when one of their ports has passed the 
point of its useful life ...
