I agree with you that the default should probably be to include the 
dependency, however I've been using acroread8 without the html support 
and it seems to work fine, both in the browser and standalone. Of course 
it fails when I try to use the help features. I'm sure that whatever you 
decide will be fine.

Yeah, having a separate port for just that library would be awesome, but 
since I'm not in a position to do that work, I won't comment further. :)
