Dear Friends,

First, I'd like to wish you all a very happy holiday season 
                  filled with love, joy, prosperity and most of all, health. 
                  Many of us are fortunate enough to be able to spend the 
                  holidays with our family, friends and loved ones, in homes 
                  filled with joy and light. During these times of 
                  light-hearted joy and celebration let us not forget to 
                  acknowledge the world beyond our doors. 

Whether it is a holiday or not, 
                  many are not as fortunate as most of us, living in dire 
                  poverty, devoid of any meaningful nourishment, clothing, 
                  celebration or education. These children 
                  deserve to feel the joy of the holiday season. Let us 
                  celebrate by spreading good cheer and good fortune to at least 
                  one person beyond our own circle of family and friends this 
                  year. 

				  Today, there are multiple children on the waiting list, 
                  longing for a sponsor. They look to these sponsors to enable 
                  them to eat or buy a stove to cook food on, or buy a heater so 
                  they don't shiver at night. Perhaps most essentially, they 
                  look to these sponsors to enable them to go to school, or in 
                  some cases to continue their education, so they can have a 
                  chance at breaking out of the crippling cycle of poverty they 
                  were born into. If you call or click online now and sponsor a 
                  child before the end of December, you can use your sponsorship 
                  donation as a tax deduction for the 2009 tax year. We urge 
                  you, in this season of celebration and joy, to give thanks for 
                  your blessings by donating to a child in need. They will thank

                  Shiva's Story

Shiva is an 8 year old girl who lives with her mother and 
                  sister in Ardebil. Despite her family troubles, she has a high 
                  GPA of 19.66 out of 20 points. Shiva's father died two years 
                  ago from a major infection which required hospitalization and 
                  he eventually passed away. Since then, the family has had no 
                  source of income. Their father was building them a house when 
                  he died. With the generous help of a local friend they were 
                  able to finish the small house which they now live in, but 
                  they currently have no income. Shiva and her siblings are 
                  having a hard time continuing school while her mother has no 
                  way to support her children. Her family is in dire need of 
                  financial assistance. Please consider sponsoring Shiva to help 
                  her family with basic needs so that she can stay in school and 
                  have the future she deserves.

                  Mehrzad's Story

Mehrzad is a 9 year old boy who lives in the city of Bam. He is an excellent student with a GPA of 20 out of 20 points. Mehrzad, his mother and his two sisters live in a small rental unit that barely has room for all of them. Mehrzads father died a few years ago from a sudden heart attack. Since then, the family has lived in very poor circumstances with absolutely no income.Their only sustenance comes from a charitable organization nearby that provides them with basic necessities.
One of Mehrzads sisters has already quit school in order to help her mother manage the family. Mehrzad and his little sister still go to grade school, but with considerable difficulty. This family is very poor and they are in dire need of financial assistance.

                  Recent Events Update

On Sunday, December 6, Child Foundation presented at The Empowered Women United Trade Show in Southern California. This show was a success with help of our dedicated volunteers. Four children were sponsored and Child Foundation received $195 in donations. Special thanks to Farideh, Mehri, Samy, and Nadia for their hard work on this event.
