This seems a litle harsh, the strength of the FreeBSD Project is it's
volunteers, whether you are part of the "cabal" with a @FreeBSD.org address
or not.

Philip's track record speaks volumes. His work is thorough, and well composed.
The fact he went through the effort to prepare a mega-patch shows his
attention to detail.

How many times has somebody simply filed a patch with no thought of the
repercussions of it's impact, leaving other committers and portmgr needing to
cleanup in it's wake? Almost too numerous to count, but I am sure we have all
experienced it.

Philip's contribution to the project in the 10 months I have been a committer
can easily be quantified by a PR count and a port count, but the the
intangible is the time he has spent in the background working in opensource,
with a net result benefit to FreeBSD. Let us not discount the time he has
spent in IRC providing feedback, and helping others along.

Let's not summarily dismiss somebody just because they don't have the best
address on the 'net. Seems to me we all started in that position.

Ok, I will get out of the pulpit now.
