From what the maintainer told me it was just a fix to remove an
unnecessary check that was causing the configure script to fail.
Presumably you also verified this yourself by checking the diff.  If
not, you were supposed to.

If so, then it clearly falls under the cases in which portrevision
should not be bumped.  In particular rerolling the distfile does not
automatically require a bump.
