No scsi scan on module inserting?

Hi there.

I am using[*] the aic7xxx driver under Linux. I would like it (very much)
to _not_ scan the scsi bus when I insmod it.

Is there an option to awoid this? A pointer to more information would be
greatly appreciated.

[*] Actually I am trying to make it work with a shared memory device.
