Kernal panic

Hi!

I have a HP NetSever with an aic7xxx scsi card on the motherbord.
My dist is RedHat 6.1 and kernal 2.2.14.
I have both ext2 and aic7xxx in the kernal and not as a module and i get
this message when i start.

request_module[block-major-8]: Root fs not mounted
FS: Cannot open root device 08:01
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:01
