Linux: Was reading past end of file fixed?

I posted a query a few weeks ago enquiring about an error
that happens when I'm trying to write to a scsi cdr from
a scsi hdd. From the logs:

Aug 28 19:41:22 pumbaa kernel: attempt to access beyond end of device
Aug 28 19:41:22 pumbaa kernel: 08:03: rw=0, want=1651065377, limit=6144862

I can't find the message I posted or Doug's reply, but was
wondering if the problem had been fixed?

Last time the error occurred (for me) was with 2.1.120/pre8.

I've only been using 2.1.122/pre10 for a few days but the error
has not yet occurred again.
