aic7xxx on-going kernel debacle

I've got the machine booting up. I'm trying to compile the kernel with the
updated source tree from Doug's site (ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/aic/).
Whenever I try to compile I get the following error:

It looks like I have an outdated kernel source tree, but I just downloaded a
brand-spanking-new one! This is a totally virgin machine, running RedHat 5.1.
 Any ideas?

Thanks!
