Viking II 9.1 WLS

Hi,
I tried version 5.0.19 of aic7xxx with a Quantum drive model Viking II 9.1
WLS on a Linux BOX, but the driver couldn't be initialized. the system
return this message:
scsi host 0 abort (pid 0) timeout - reseting
scsi bus is being reset for host 0 chanel 0

I have a Adaptec 2940 UW
