Problem: boot order with many SCSI controllers?!

Hello!

I am using a Linux-System (RedHat-5.0) with two SCSI controllers. The
first controller (Adaptec 2940UW) is connected with an UW-IBM-Disk and
the second controller (Symbios Logic 875UW) is connected with a
Raid-System.
Now, I would like to boot from the first harddisk and the first
controller, which is recognized first from BIOS, there is no problem,
but then Linux recognizes the other controller first (Adaptec) and
therefore assigns the raid systems with /dev/sda and the bootable
harddisk only with /dev/sdb.

Then, kernel panics with the message:

Partition check:
 sda: unknown partition table
 sdb: sdb1 sdb2 ....
VFS: Cannot open root device 08:02
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:02

Is there a way to change the recognition order of the SCSI
controllers; Symbios first and then Adaptec? - Any way with LILO?

Thanks

Andreas
