5.0.x much more broken than 4.0.x?

This is a very common bug with the Adaptec driver of Linux kernel 2.0.34. (I 
experience it on the machine from which I write.)

Two workarounds:

- keep kernel 2.0.34 but copy all the aic7xxx* from 2.0.33. It works for me.
- try driver 5.1, currently beta. (I didn't try it yet.)
