3985(w) with Linux

I'm looking at picking up either/both a 3985 and a 3985w (two seperate
machines likely), and i'm wondering if there's anything special with using
it with Linux (kernel 2.0.34 and 2.0.35).

Initially, I won't actually be doing RAID, but will want to have drives
on the seperate channels.
