Hello Thomas and the others!

I put your patch in aic7xxx.c and before the patch of the
"restart_sequencer" and two patches at line 8531 and further lines.

;-)))) NOW IT IS ABLE TO BOOT FROM HARDDISK!!!!!

With your changes I can boot with the scsi bios enabled and the 
phenomen that I could boot only every second time is gone, too.

All narrow devices and ultrawide devices functions!

I made now a new patch for an original 2.0.35 kernel for those who
want to test it, perhaps, Doug, you can put it on your ftp-site.
The patch is attached to this mail.

Come the problems only from the timings?!

Another Question: Our system has an IBM Model: DDRS-39130W harddisk,
is this an uw or u2w device?
The aic7xxx driver now transfers at 40MB/s.
The bios says something of an ULTRA2-SE device?!
