HEADS DOWN: GNOME 2.12 merge is now mostly complete

I've unlocked the ports tree as the majority of the GNOME 2.12 merge is
done.  There are a few more ports to update, but the sweeping changes
have been made.  Users may want to hold off on upgrading for the moment
until the official release announcement is sent.
